The time when Sillydale was blocked, I turned up late (yeah I know thats not very definitive) and we went down the scratchy lane at Dale Farm SK19555 72157 - HERE

Ayway I went back up that lane yesterday and it as bad if not worse for the scratchiness. I really must go down it the otherway oneday and even up the scratchs either side.

Did 3 more lanes in the area that I'd not done before, but main point of the day was to marshal on an equestrian event running out of Bakewell (BHS Trec if anyone knows about such things) - bit of bridge building from the 4x4 community to the equestrian crowd. Sat a the end of High Rake to warn 4x4 drivers and trail bikes of the event but no one came past bar the horses.

Lanes were

No thats was nothing and a long way away too, this is in Derbyshire, near Chatsworth House (ish).

that lane was nothing, this one has you leaning at about 30 degress on a hedge for abour 150yrds, you can't get out and trim anything back there far too much of it. Theres a drystone wall to the otherside and the bank gets steeper the nearer you get to it. If we ever have a laning day down that way, I'd be happy to take people along in mine for the experience but its not one for anyone who likes their paintwork.

hi,

thats a nice bit of mapping, book marked it for future use.

nice that can zoom in and out from world atlas down to OS
and then street atlas, and can scroll around on continuous
map.

managed to use grid ref at bottom left to create my own x
marks spot too as a favourite.

glad you hd a good day, sorry couldnt make it due to family
party commitment.

X marks the spot piggy backs onto Multimap for its mapping.

If you right clicg it brings up a small sub menu one item of which is link to this spot, which is how I got the URLs for the maps I posted - very useful as you say.

I remember it well! My old red Mav had a few scratches beforehand but some of the scratches I got that day I never got out. Now I have to convince my wife that all the trips arent that bad...she says I am not to scratch my new one!

know them well

getting into my neck of the woods hb.know them lanes well and have driven them frequently over tha last year.the first on in your post is my favorite of the three.quite short but a good steep climb.the second one is a steady decent down into chatsworth, and the third is quite good drive at the bottom but levels up towards the top.on exiting the last lane at beely moor if you had turned left and drove for about 1/4 mile there is flash lane on your right, just a short deep potholed track.at the end carry staight on for about 1 mile and you meet butchers lane that takes you down into darley dale a good decent lane.the lower part is only drivable with a lifted motor as i found out and had to reverse back up(which was fun)very leany and narrow.in darley dale if you head for milners and follow the road to the end ,turn left over the bridge turn right and you come to another lane.a good climb, ruts, water, rocks very good drive with the added bonus of meeting the ostriches at the top. i kid you not there is an ostrich farm at the end of the lane on your left.
