any one think they could do this

Wouldn't attempt it in my T2, or even my Honda Jazz - what a star!!!

Standard wagon and drag procedure made easy with a pole trailer as you can see every corner of it, I used to do heavy vehicle recovery, and many times have had a laden artic on suspended tow, around 90 ft overall length and had to reverse the lot into our yard, it looked impressive but was far easier than it looked as the visibility from my cab was very good and you could see both pivot points perfectly, 5th wheel on the artic and turntable under the front axle of the tractor, Rick

superb, always imagined having a double piviot would be next to impossible
to control in reverse. a foreign wagon n drag once turned up at old work
place and put trailer round a dog leg yard, when i expected him to have to
shunt it in from front recovery jaw. total respect.

ironic though that when i took my class one bus, a tractor unit turned up
with a dolly/drag trailer. sure my instructor said he'd end up with a class 1
restricted to drawbars, when seemed clear test shunts would be harder
than if had brought 5th wheel trailer, didnt seem right then, any thoughts
on grandfather rights then, this was 1989 btw.

think a firm trialed a regular size caravan in drag format, like a miniature
showman's caravan, but say 18/20 foot long, could have bee fun. sod
all nose weight though?

I have always liked the idea of a mobile home based on a semi trailer and a Transit with a baby 5th wheel, but then thats me, Rick

I used to maneuver this type of thing around

The tow arm creates an articulated link same principle as that log wagon but I can honestly say I would have bottled it in that wagon near the edge :eek:

sounds good to me..

bit big for some camp sites though

They are, thats one thing that keeps putting us off 5th wheelers. I asked on one quite nice site how they charged for big rigs and they said they let the owner park across however many pitches they needed then charge for them

what puts me of fifth wheeler is non standard coupling, unless built around
regular commercial tractor unit. after all your tug breaks down, where are
you going to get say another navara with fiver built in. plus manouvering
all down to keeping it coupled, have parking legs these trailers so no option
to have a motor mover on trailer's wheels, not that i have on our 'van any
way.

think waste of pickup bed too, compared to storage afforded by a proper
truck cap, akin to a shed on truck if toying with semi full timing.

nah stick with trol and 20' twin axle, though like to get 'vans plated
weight increased as its ratio to trol is so low could drag a lot more crap
in van then legally.

Piss off easy :D
Lend me your truck I'll have it turned round much quicker than that :naughty

Hows that Pete let that little trailer drop down side of hill then yank it back up again
being empty it did look a bit toy like compared to truck. did it not have any brake
lines fitted either.

got me thinking now would like to try that sort of trailer, or regular trailers on troll
on bit of land see how they handle, maybe couple of army sankey trailers sure
they often have a nato pintle on rear, to create a land train....and 2 together
wont be a as long my tin tent hehe.

Bloody amazing!!! Always had massive respect for the blokes that can get wagon & drags into tight spots, let alone that!
I once tried reversing my mates articulated bale trailer into his farm yard, has one of those fifth wheel dollys and it absolutely baffled me :lol

same here, used to have some Brittains toy/model tractors and stuff as kid, loved playing
shunt but this one drag type trailer was always a disaster.
