is it a socket, electrical.

from angle does look like hd jump lead plug in
type found on breakdown vans. is that a cable
coming from it.

yes its a cable but i dont know where it goes. ill try get more pictures tomorrow but im busy with the saab.. tis m o t time

thanks for the replys larson

its an anderson socket according to rac patrol member deano.

says socket will be to right hand side, cable seen will be power
feed and unit earthed to chassis.

heavy duty supply, perhaps a trailer with winch or hydralic pump
like a tipper. handy bit of kit. be worth checking if has isolater
in car though as serious risk of shorting if abused.

sometimes a set of jumpleads are plugged in, seen used to charge
forklifts an even jump start buses from fitted service van.

cheers extreme, typing at same time having phoned a friend!

yes definately an adderson socket i have one on my t2, usualy connnected straight to the battery and earthed to the chassis as stated above, If you have no use for it, it might be worth just disconecting it at the battery.

its earthed to chassie and does seen to go straight to the baterry.

thanks for the replies

ok guess wouldnt have fuse due to starting loads but think
if was my set up would have an isolater somewhere near battery
maybe one of those race car types, lot of earth risks would
have thought.
