Out laning around buxton today and Front o/s anti roll bar link has broken or the nut has come loose and stripped ( will have a look tommoz) but basically I drove 60 miles with out the front arb doing anything, and tbh it was pretty safe and predictable just a bit wollowy on bends, might just take the link off and leave it for a bit, see how it performs offroad and if its worth running no arbs instead of only rear off

Mine was always off till I went from 33s to 35s
As you say, a bit of roll just makes the passengers a little green :lol

Did the extra height make it even more scary then mate ?

No it was the whole thing on 35s at speed was just too leary:lol
Fine off road :thumbs
So I did a rose jointed drop link mod 'cause I couldn't figure how to do a disconnect and keep the ARB from falling down.

Fixed this today

The poly bush on the o/s link had completely collapsed caused by the washer collapsing first and being forced up past the shoulder

Anyway I took it off and refitted it with 2 HD large washers and some rubber bushes, its sound again, need to sort the other side at some point but its fine at mo, except its poly bushed so will get a new link and fit with the supplied rubber bushes so they are the same both sides

Will remove my anti roll bars soon for when offroad.

Cheers Gav

The new MOT regs mean you won't get a fail either IF it's in the interests of the vehicles main use :clap

Different to what I've heard :S, I spoke to one of the mechanics at the garage at work who looks after our fleet vehicles and he said that new VOSA guidelines he's just received state that it's an instant fail

Hmmm, it seems to be worse now as more of the points are open to tester intelligence :doh

it's all how the tester perceives the rules, always has been.

Same as boat safety regs, but since each boat is different, some changes can be expensive.
However it is only every 4 years, thank goodness.:doh

These new rules for MOT came into force 20th March this year, one of them being that you can't present car with engine light on as I found out last week with my daughters Seat Ibiza!! Has passed the last 2 years with light on, was a lambda sensor issue that was sorted but never bothered to get light cancelled as wasn't a problem as we knew the issue was sorted! Presented car for MOT last week automatic fail unless I paid £40 to get it turned off!! I negotiated down to £25 as I told him I had sorted problem but I don't think he believed me, so he reset light and sat there waiting for it to reappear so he could fail it! But like I said it had been sorted..lol. He wasn't happy that he had to pass it with no advisories but apart from being £25 quid lighter in the pocket I was well happy to have got one over on him..lol

so glad mine is nice and simple, Slightly concerned about the arb's but I am pretty sure some 90 models never had them.

So did mine but that's not the same as being fact.
Fez , if it was an optional fitting then you can legitimately pass without it being fitted. That's the way Discovery owners get theirs passed :thumbs

This is my thinking. The 90 handles like a dream around bends, Feels like it has arbs. But then again I think the springs are a little too stiff.

My mav passed before too without any, but that was before these new regs came in. :nenau

Mine passed 3 weeks ago with no rear, lads are into 4x4s tho and pretty sensible

I like the way my MOT tester explained it to me if its not there they cant fail it.Sounds good to me however i do understand diffrent tester will see it diffrently..

Cheers Gav
