Well after all issues had with T2 lately just got a pass and despite power issues it didn't effect the smoke test.

Just 2 advisories of arb bushes or their pins.
can now concentrate on power issue as tester did say was bit flat and throttle response slow.

Now... flat spot...
Could be fuel, filter, or mini filter, poor quality fuel, dirty injectors, air in system normally grey or white smoke. Air filter, usually associated with black smoke on acceleration, Could be MAF, or any combination of these issues.

cheers, its been worse in winter, think when cold outside and engine cold.

as documented before, started today to get warmed up, scraped frost off.

went to set off revs seem ok but as let up clutch no power at all, tries to stall
its as if handbrake on on clutch slipping, max revs 1700rpm
turned off and on then revs normally, then off we go,

later letting it warm up on run, is going ok, ish but sluggish.

setting off from roundabout performance was more like have caravan on back.
gets upto speed but oh so much slowly.

looking for advise from a diesel specialist now on suggestion of tester.

fuel filter done, fuel addative, added.

Always believed mini filter was on TD on TDI, where would it be ?

Apparently TDi's have them too. Something about it's in the banjo bolt.

in the banjo bolt that feeds fuel to top of ip front of engine.long reach bar with 17mm socket,be aware of washers top and bottom,drill it use a screw to pull it and blow through before fitting.sorted.

IP is injector pump. Take a look at steblues thread today called mini filter again.

Well Sweety suggested pulling vac pipe from egr valve.

was struggling without tools to hand, to get clip off and gailed.

toyed with cutting hose and plugging it, instead made up a clamp
of a bolt, a captive nut washer and a washer. squeezed hose
between it. cold start today and run to work at 0 degree, fine, no
limp, then home tonight same.

might be imagination but felt smoother, hoping this is proving the fault
and go whole hog blanking it off soon.

Fingers crossed it sorts it & if it does time the fit an EGR blank so the horrid thing never works again
