Good evening, I am the proud owner of a 2004 Terrano which I found by accident whilst looking for a 4x4 and decided it was the car for me!

I do have a question, probably the first of many, which is what power battery do I need? I think the one I have at the moment is on its last legs so want to be sure I get the right one.

Thank you!

Hi and welcome, there are loads of battery options to choose from. Mine is ace, I forget the exact spec tho :doh

Some of the guys on here will let you know some gooduns!

So what terrano have you aquired? 2.7 or 3.0?

Each of them have their own pros and cons, there is a wealth of info on here about how to maintain and modify your terrano once you subscribe and become a full member :thumbs it usually ends up paying for itself in the first month of ownership due to not being ripped off by a dealer with a 20 second fix :cool:

And lastly can you post up some pics? :naughty

Welcome:thumb2 As for your battery most car part places will do a drop test on your battery for nothing:thumb2 if you need a new one go for the most cold cranking amps & Ah you can get to fit in:thumb2

Hi Mate

I'm a moderator for the forum, I'd just like to say welcome :thumbs

I know this might sound bias but you should really pay your £10 membership fee that will give you full access to all of the forum and all of the information you'll ever need for anything Terrano/Maverick

This time though it's free ;)

I run a Lucas Leisure battery in mine at the minute and it's awesome, it's a special one that is also good for cranking and doesn't mind being ran totally flat. This is where I got it from, It's literally 10 mins from where I work and I walked in an picked it up;

This one is actually classed as a "Marine Leisure Battery" and therefore instead of being measured in CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) its actually measured in MCA (Marine Cranking Amps) these batteries can apparently work as efficiently at -40 degrees as if they were at 10 degrees and they don't mind be worn out totally but trust me that takes a lot on one of these (believe me I've tried)
