yes they do as i bought one just before christmas they let the turbo kick in quicker eg turbo kicks in 3000rpm standard with boost valve roughly 2200rpm so pretty quick take off

i think they fit in the wastegate pipe (the little pipe that comes off the intake side of the turbo). basically from understanding, and for those you dont know, the wastegate 'bleeds' excess boost from the turbo to protect the engine. usually though, it bleeds too much, and hence makes the turbo less efficient. the boost valve is just a mini gas regulator much like those you have on gas bottle etc, and by closing it you dont allow less boost to escape. however, you have to be careful, im not sure they would effect a diesel as much, but certainly cranking up the boost on petrol turbos you can blow head gaskets so just be careful those who do buy one. (someone correct me if im wrong though).

scooter, do you notice your engine temperature rising more than it did before you fitting the boost valve? with the extra boost, im just a bit worried about over heating my car if i fit one

whatmot i never noticed but when i fitted mine the car took too long to heat up so i checked with a people and they said chech thermo so i did and it was dead but when knew one was fitted the temp was perfect about a quater the way up the gauge on a real long run and i have read on this site gauges sitting at half way so i think mine is doing better than some of the club members but a good investment it feels like when going up a hill i am not pulling 2.5 tonnes behind me if you know what i mean

the boost valve that i bought is a powertech i have used there products for a couple of years now never had a problem but it is worth getting a boost gauge to be on the save side

T jay when my truck is running right i shall be investing, i gather that the boost valve is ajustable ( so you may beable to turn it on and off )but the fitting i believe is easy have a look at Ians E-bay he has some info on there. or phone him he will run you though it, he states its not rocket science but just a case of fitting a valve to a manifold his number is 01869 250568 or 07921 665578 you can E- Mail him [email protected]
