Hi Paul, 2 years!! if it gives you any encouragement I had a sierra stand for just over a year (had a company car) changed the oil, checked everything else and it started straight off, no knackered exhaust, no knackered battery ....I was stunned.

The only other thing I did change were the tyres, they were worn anyway but having stood for a while without turning and the weight of the car on them I was a bit concerned.

On a different note to do with oild, is it ok to use molyslip gearbox/diff lube in the transfer box or best steer clear?

Cheers

Hi Dave,

The Mav we have now we got though a add Mav posted for a ex member, got her home changed the filters & e/oil the batt was dead so replaced it & she fired up after a few turns of the key, replaced some parts & tyres and she flue (sp) through her mot.

As for useing molyslip gearbox/diff lube in the transfer box, I have always used them in there in all the other types of 4x4 we have had, with no harm done, no doubt someone will tell us if I am wrong.

Paul.
