if its an amatuer radio ,you need to be licenced to use it.......if its cb you dont

if its alinco, its probably a amateur radio ,so you will need to have a licence ,most green laner,s use cb anyway,so wouldnt hear you if you used the alinco

Click the link and see if you can spot the model you have. They also made linesr amps often used by truckers to boost their CB's. Ahhh the good old pirate days. David

I have a complete CB set up lying on my office floor I am selling the lot for £30 if anyone is interested PM me, but I am away until Monday so replies may be slow.

got the radio fitted

i fitted the radio today, took a while as i cable tied the wires under the centre consoll, the wire has a quick relace connector so the radio can be removed when not in use, and the wire goes between the passenger seat and consoll out the way, here's some pics of my setup, the mast will just go out the side door as i have a mag mount

you need a amateur radio license to use that, ok for just listening though.

yup , i concur with my learned collegue , that is a 2 mtr/70cms amatuer radio transciever , you need a licence to transmit , not sure about just listening tho ,but as its capable of transmitting id guess youd still need a licence

just keep the mic out of the radio, listening is fine.

Just to say the radio works. Spoke to my uncle and he gave me the main frequency for this area that he and a bunch of the other raynet guys use. There's a relay station transmitter thingymabob about 2 miles away from where I live supposingly. I live in a small town in a valley but I still get the signals. He also said to keep the mic disconnected as I don't have a licence yet but there's no probs listening:thumbs my dad used it as he has a licence

btw what's a microwave module? As I heard someone talking about one

Thanks for the help guys:bow
