Evening all

Winter came with a bang in Cornwall. The rain started (almost forgotten what that was....) and my T2 3.0 alternator just seized and shredded the belt.

Just got a new AE recon unit and Micro-V belt, and am blowed if I can find the tension adjuster. Methinks this might make the belt fitting a tad easier :lol

Any suggestions please?

Cheers! Ben

Sorry mate the 3 ltr is out of my range espec if you have a poly vee belt, I am sure someone with a 3 will be along soon, Rick

I've no idea on the 3L but i'm sure one of the guy's with a 3L patrol will know the answer as it's the same engine:thumbs

From the MA section of the manual, Page 28:

Checking Drive Belt
I Because an auto tensioner adjustment mechanism is
provided, it is not necessary to check or adjust the tension
of accessory belt.
1. Inspect for cracks, fraying, wear or oil adhesion. Replace if
necessary.
The belts should not touch the bottom of the pulley groove.
2. Check the damper unit of the auto tensioner for oil leaks.

Sweety, it's like you're psychic! :lol

:lol:lol knew you had a 3L but when it came to your user name my memory went blank & couldn't think of it:doh yet could remember your motor:augie

BB/Rayf - belated thanks, I have moved the tensioner, with and without the top bolt in, but nowhere near enough movement to get the belt over!

So am going with the good old leverage method. If it was good enough for Stonehenge....

Going to get my hands dirty (again) tomorrow to try from underneath. :doh

Watch this space....or not
