Hi how easy is it to check and tighten my belt as now the alternator squeels . KEV.

push the longest run in if it goes more than 12 to 15 mm it is slack, Rick

It's not too bad, but for some reason there is no easy tensioners on the alternator, like there is on the other 2 units. I put a pole between the engine and the alternator, which I can lean on with my shoulder, as I tighten it back up, to get the tension right.

That's exactly what I do!:thumbs

me too, I usually use a pry bar.
Easy enough.

Some say...
use WD 40 on the belt to stop it squeeling...

Others... say don't.

Works for me..
What do I know... been doing it for 18 years on my Mav:thumbs

No I think this issue was, it collected grit.

But I have only replaced my belts once in 18 years, still keep the originals by the jack in the boot.

I have never had any problems.:thumbs
