Hi,
can anyone recomend a book or info to help me replace the alternator belt on a 2.4 1997 terrano II ,this looks a pain in the arse to do without ramps.

cheers

no need for ramps it is all done from under the bonnet, the alternator is on an adjustable bracket and the power steering belt tensioner is just above the distributer, piece of cake, power steering belt of first then the alternator belt, Rick

Also easy on the 2.7 Td, nothing to remove, but the belt is smaller than the diameter of the fan

So do 2-3 blades at a time and when 1/2 done it easily goes over the fan.

Always replace both belts at the same time.

Keep an old spare belt in the car, I keep mine in a plastic bag in the space where the jack is in the boot.

Don't overtighten the belts, but retighten them after a few hundred miles.:thumb2
