I think I've level this a bit last minute, 9 days until it runs out and it's not ready yet!
I've been doing some essential repairs over the last 2 weeks to prep it for the MOT, you know those bits you have known about for the last 6 months but decided to pay for it all at the last minute to get your monies worth out of it,
So far over the last 2 weeks
Rear handbrake cables
Rear wheel cylinders
Right front outer track rod end
Left front lower ball joint
2" body lift
Wheel alignment
Repair front panel and renew lower cross member with box section

Nice job, it makes all the difference when you can do the work yourself so well done:clap

I can't take all the credit, I cut and shaped the sill and left it to the panel beater at work to braze / spot it on and smooth it after where needed.

Dont know what you mot people are like but mine wouldnt pass that because its spot welded even though it was spot welded from new:doh

Shouldn't fail on that really? When we fit new sills and 1/4's if the old panel is spot welded in certain areas it is the new one gets the same, also has some panel bond in the Seam too

I've done that before they made me fully weld the edges together think it depends on whether they see the repair looking at yours they may not notice its been repaired .I did full floor andsill repair on 2cv enen though I've got spot welder still had to mig all the returns together

That's just being pedantic. I like the idea of a seam welded 2cv. Unfortunately the sill won't be painted but the sill seam and welds have been brush sealed and the sill up to the lip of the doors stone chipped so there will be nothing to see, and it'll hopefully last well

well shes gone in for the test, N/S wing thoroughly duct taped to cover the rust hole (the length of the arch moulding) :augie unsure of the tires as they have taken a lot of abuse over the years and the n/s sill hasn't gone through yet but it depends on how enthusiastic they are with the knocker.

cleanish bill of health, advisories on all tyres cut, top arm bushes, rear shock bushes, general steering freeplay, and n/s sill not too bad at all

now to decide if i should put my chrome steps back on
