Alarm/Radio fitting (North East)

Can anybody recommend someone to fit my radio & an alarm system into my Maverick in the Washington/Sunderland area?
Tried to simply fit the radio myself, problem with lack of sound (Yes, tried the volume knob). Told it may be to do with the amp already fitted!
Re Alarm, I know my Maverick is old but it's still all I have and I bloody like it! Can anyone recommend a basic alarm that will not cost the earth?
Have already tried a few of the local places re the radio, met with a hand on chin and a shake of the head! Even Halfords were unable to fit it and I bought the radio off them!
Any local members want to earn a few bob?
