Alarm Problem.

Hi guys and gals.
Straight into it.Got home from work today and missus informs me that car wont lock on alarm fob,tried mine to no avail,one fob has brand new batteries in and was working ok,the other has been checked with volt meter and shows 6v and was also working ok.
Tried to reprogram fobs with the download instruction,no joy.Turned key 6 times and got 2 flashes,pressed and held unlock button and pressed lock 3 times and nothing on both fobs,tried loads of times still same result nada.
Does anyone have any further suggestions as I think problem goes a little deeper than just reprogramming the fobs.
The car is not the one listed below.It is a 98 s reg terrano tdi,dont know why its showing my old car I have filled in the update.

have you tried fuses or relays ?

any other lights on the dash. or anything else not working

you could try disconnecting the battery overnight to see if this sorts out the ecu.

No not tried fuses or relays as everything else seems to be working ok.Will try the old battery off trick tonight,will let you know how it goes.
Going away with caravan tomorrow for week and a bit so might have a tinker then.

Half an hour is plenty....theres no battery backup, just residual current held in a capacitor that discharges fairly quickly....hold the horn button for a minute or two, that should drain it.
