Alarm and central door locking problems

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me please, I have a Terrano ll 52 plate , I cant lock it either with the remote or the key, after turning it off the indicators flash a few times and do this ever so often. Has anyone got a solution for this please? Thank you

Has anyone fitted an after market alarm system?

Your's if the factory fitted system will be different to mine. However I'd be looking at the batteries in the key fob which I think should be part of the key it's self rather than a seperate fob like mine.

Sounds a bit strange mate, first things first with the key out of the ignition sitting inside car can you lock each door in turn by hand, if so, does it lock all the doors or just that one?

If you find a door that just locks itself and not the rest you may have a faulty lock on that door.

Go and try that and get back to us

You lock all other doors except drivers with the lock inside the car and they lock however, when you lock the drivers door from the inside it pops back open opening all doors in the car?

If what I've said above makes sense sounds like you've got a faulty lock on the drivers door, get the door card off and have a look at it to make sure it all looks ok

from inside drivers door looks all the doors including the rear door, did you check accurately that the rear door locks from inside, if it did then the drivers door lock control unit could be faulty this is a separate unit to the door lock unit itself, from memory I think? I had a similar problem a while ago and sorted it, but cannot remember what I did other than it did not require any replacement parts, strip and clean?? Rick
