airbag light

Hi Guys, my airbag light has been flashing for a while since I disconnected the airbag when trying to find a problem.
hasn't been a problem for this years mot but I beleive a problem for next year as it's changing.

Anyway, I have joined 4x4 response and as we have more people we have accepted more clients.

one being the ceredigion county council, who want a vehicle inspection and from a member just been says it was like a mot again minus emmisions. being that the CCC are useless and likely very strict, my airbag light may be a problem even though it's a pass this year. (my mot is only like 2 months old) :lol

Anyone know how to reset it with the nissan consult tool?

Other option is to black it out. :naughty

If not I will remove the bulb as extreme said. :thumbs

removing the bulb will not get you through next years mot, they will want to see it light on first turn of the key, the way out is construct a timer that turns the light on with ignition and a few seconds later turns it off, Rick

well as the airbag is not faulty I'll try the airbag reset today at lunchtime

well I can't get it into diagnostic mode so it's either look at the software for options on it or piggy back from oil light.

Hi Fez,

Took me a couple of time to get it to work.

Try google for another was as that workshop note was done by me and my motor is an 03 T2 there may be a different way for the old T2.

Fixed it!

Heard of this before but always thought what switch untill I just read this.

The way that worked for me was to turn the ignition on, open your drivers door and press the light switch (which activates the interior light) about 7 times in quick secession. Sounds odd but it worked for me.

Which put it into diagnotic mode like the download section pdf. Then a case of turning off ignition and it's gone.

Today it worked for me, (Maverick TDI 1997)

Unlikely but dodgy airbag? Or a fault in the system that detects airbag ?
