Sooo.....:augie

I was thinking about fitting a snorkel at some point in the future... I quite like the D22 one, as I think it looks smart, and built for the job, and I know I am not up to the abilities of "Makeitfit" to do the superb job he has done with his custom internal one.

My problem is, having fitted the second battery, I now have no space to bring the snorkel in to the air filter box from the front of the car, and I can't come in from the back, since the fuel filter etc is in the way on that side of it.

I know you can't go straight in to the wing side of the box, since the air would not be filtered, but did wonder if you could find a filter that was shorter, and had and end on it or even something like this sort..

... then you could come in directly through the wing into the back of the box.

I was also wondering about using a different air filter box, something maybe like the one here on Ebay, which is straight through, rather than the right angle of the T2, but that would take a trip to the breakers to find one that would fit.

Anyone have any input or other ideas?

I have that filter in my air box as it was a bit noisey out of it so the k&n induction kit 57i will fit in and I am in the middle of fitting my snorkel in through the end of ogrinal air box just have to remember to cap off original inlet

3"stainless running between inner and outer wing to where the a piler meets wing then exit to run out side up the piler bigger than the D22 snorkel so engine breathes better more power:sly

Same problems I had

U want a 'ramair enclosed induction kit' and go through the inner wing like I did

It's inside original air box here is the 57i ebay no. 110868432418:thumbs

So you take the standard element out and fit a cone filter in its place ?? How do u tighten The hose clips ?

K&n 57i fitted mine cost me £56 brand new eBay:thumbs

Ironically, I just found it on Ebay, and then with the part number from there, I found it on the K&N website, but their vehicle search says they don't do one.. Go figure..:lol

Kit 57-0125 is the one, and the fitting instructions even show the same coloured car, so it must fit..:lol http://www.knfilters.co.uk/instructions/57-0125_inst.pdf

How are you going to attach a snorkel to an open filter like that ?

by putting that filter inside the T2 airbox rather than the proper tube T2 one.

You will still be able to take the front of the air box out, and the hose clip will be just inside it.

Have a look at the fitting instructions, and then imagine that you leave the box in place and fit the bolted flange inside the lid of the air box.
