chaps...does anyone know IF, and WHERE you can get new air con pipes made? Say for example you have an air con pipe, and the end with the nut on has a bit of broken pipe stuck inside and its all twisted, can this be repaired or can a new pipe be made??

cheers!!:thumb2

Are they flared like brake lines?

erm...good question.

just taken these pics to verify. The broken one, obviously, you cant see, so I added a pic of a smaller pipe whihc I expect is exactly the same type of connection only smaller...

If its just two metal sections joined, replace it with a length of 8 or 10mm rubber hydraulic pipe (forget which) and two jubilee clips....otherwise I'm sure a decent hydraulics place or agricultural engineers can sort you out with new fittings.

no, its the end that fixes to the condenser, so will have an o-ring etc much like the smaller pic.

Speak to AMA air con in Gloucester. They will make up any permutation from a pattern.

well, you know, I was just poking my nose about in the engine bay and er, well, my angle grinder cut it off....sir....

actually, the story goes like this. The pipe is off my Mazda MX3. I used one of those gas refill kits to try to find the issue, I found the problem to be my condenser, which was leaking out the back so hard to spot. I ordered a new one of a Mazda club member, and when it arrived, set about the swap over. well, the main pipe from the compressor was pretty much welded on. it was very awkward to get to, as most things are inside a mazda engien bay, but even so, I have to the tools and this nut wasnt budging.

I ended up having to remove the whole lot, just to get the pipe out, and the nut had been tightened on at an angle, and over time, and pretty much become welded on, hence why I attempted to angle grind the thing off! ah well!!
