I've seen and asked many questions about air bags and steering wheels, so here's my "how to" :thumb2
First off, my truck has a roll cage and harness bar. I have no std seat belts ONLY using the harness now.
Similarly I'm binning the stock steering wheel and air bag ( no point with harness )
I also fancied an after market suede steering wheel anyway
So first off battery off. Then you need to wait a few hours for the capacitor to discharge itself, unless you like to live on the edge :sly
Then remove the plastic tabs off the sides and bottom of your wheel.
Here's the yellow plug to the airbag. This you need to undo.
Just like this
Next you need to undo these special security star drive bolts. I didn't have the right kind of drive so I just drilled a hole in a std one . Slow speed, high pressure and lots of loooob
Air bag off and put aside for future mischief :naughty
In my case I have the horn button seperate from the wheel so I'll not be needing this either :thumbs
So here we are, back to basics. Just the spline ready for the new boss.
Bolt on the boss with a bit of thread lock for good measure.
Then simply bolt on the wheel, simples
It's the only bit of bling in the Black Pearl, except the other bit of bling :doh
If you still want your horn on the wheel, then simply attach the earth and horn wire back to the supplied push bit in the middle.
Enjoy.
