At work we have a large piece of kit to which an inspection hatch is attached with an M8 bolt. Anyway this bolt is now spinning around, and not tightening. Someone was a bit heavy handed :(

I would like to drill it out and re-tap it to accept a larger M10 bolt.

Q - What size drill should I use to open up the hole, and leave enough material to rethread it?

Thanks

Alan

Unless you have access to tapping-size drills, a 9mm drill should do it.

Thanks for the quick replies. This may save us some money.
