Hi all,

Not had the maverick long thought the front was a bit low, had a look the bump stops are about 2mm from the rubber so I guess I need to adjust things.

The link I found does not work, just takes me to the front page,:doh http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.co.uk...ht=torsion+bar

I have the manual, found that & got stung a tenner before I found this club, now that was a well spent tenner:clap

Can someone point me in the right direction please

I got it with all terrain tyres on it, OK for snow I guess but very noisy on dry roads, I was thinking of getting another set of wheels & regular tyres for warmer weather, local tyre store says only AT tyres fit the wheels I have 215x15 he says, any ides?:bow

The tip about the rear diff fill/level plug is good, needed a 600mm stud buster to shift it:clap

Thanks for the link, took a while to find the adjuster:doh looking at wrong end, sprayed with WD40 type stuff.

Currently there is 50mm difference in wheel arch height & 2mm at front bump stops,

Update Sunday after job done

Reason for wanting different tyres is the noise, sounds like an old Bedford army truck from the 50's, yeh I was called up, found it better than working for a living so did 6

Thanks again for the update

Not sure about the bump stops, but its worth leaving 1-2 cms down at the front if you tow anything or put heavy weight in the back, as if its completely flat the back will settle when you load it up and tip the nose up.

But if you don't carry heavy loads, almost level is fine.

i decided not to raise my torsion bars, front end is a bit lower, makes me more aero dynamic :lol :augie

235 75 15 tyres will fit your rims, they are pretty common and there is lots of choice, search for the size on ebay for ideas :thumb2

Yes I did that as well, but check your wheel rim width against the manufacturers range of rim sizes for that make of tyre. ( See tyre web sites).

Mine are 6" wide rims and were compatible with Avon Rangers, 235 75 R15, but not all 235 75 R15 will be compatible, so if fitted may invalidate your insurance, due to safety issues.
I also advised my insurance company. No probs.

Many thanks for the advice, torsion bars adjusted AOK taking the weight on a trolly jack made it easy.:thumb2

Thanks also for the lead to Comma oil for the back diff. A week ago Ford wanted £18 a litre, lucky for me they only had 1 in stock, I got three from Motex in Rochford essex today, £12.17 inc vat for the 3:thumb2
Suggestion, wrap a couple of turns of PTFE tape round drain/fill plugs, make them easy to remove later, I had to use a 2 foot stud buster to get the fill plug out.

While I was there I got a quote for the other oils.
Front diff Planet oil EP80W-90 £3.70 litre
Transfer box AQ202 Autotrans fluid £6.17
Gearbox SX75W-90 GL4 £4.28
All these were litres prices VAT to be added
Several branches in Essex motexgroup.com

Saved a furtune thanks to this club & I have only had the Mav for 2 months:clap:clap:clap:clap
