Drivers door has sagged.. It now catches at the bottom of the blue painted area where it meets the tread plate.

Can these be adjusted? :nenau

Ta very much :thumb2

Fully open the door, lift up the door and feel the play in the hinge pins...
On some cars, I have simply replaced the hinge pins.
You might be able to adjust the bolts on the hinge.

How often do you grease the hinge pins?
Never done it... :augie That's why they could have worn.:doh

They actually do wear, grease or not, but if dry, they wear even quicker:doh

they can be adjusted a small amount, just open the door fully and look between the door and wing, you can loosen the top hinge bolts then lift the door and retighten, might take a couple of tries before you get it right, Rick

Cheers chaps, I do spray lube on them, or have done in the past, they have had a few jet washes since

I will try that at work rick :thumb

Thanks :bow

I had the same problem on the drivers door, hinge pins slightly worn so door was <~5mm low at the striking point on the pillar, and of course, finally the lock stay would lift it into position.
I adjusted the door hinges on mine.
You will need to remove the plastic liner inside the front wing then you can get a ring spanner on the bottom hinge mounts, the top mounts are readily accessible.
With the top hinge mount slightly loosened just enough to allow it to move, and leaving the bottom hinge fairly slack. Then with the door open about 150mm I used a trolley jack and wood packing under the bottom of the door to lift it into the correct position before tightening off the hinges.
Been as good as gold since.

Note: the door is HEAVY!

strange that only the post 2000 motors seem to suffer with this whereas the earlier versions did not given their age, another cost cutting bit by Nissan? Rick

I can feel my passengers one starting to go slightly

Earlier on, prior to answering Alex's question, I tried mine, no slack what so ever.
1995 design, much better....lol
Cost cutting again then for the later ones...
What a shame.

So lets look at the potential list of apparent cost cuts... from what we have seen or reported...
So that's get rid of Auto hubs
get rid of three grease nipples on front prop shaft
replace rear diff with tin plate version that needs half the oil of the cast iron version
reduce rust treatment
use cheap door pins
remove inner handle for rear door
Edit... replaced steel tank guard with plastic.

You could add... remove the mini filter, but since most don't seem to need it anyway lol.

Lets look at the list of improvements...
Rear brake drum adjusters seem to work.

Have I missed any...?
This list is only from topics covered this year lol...

rick adjusted mine on my 1995 mistral ....... edit ..... I think it was the tailgate he adjusted ( but could be wrong )

Funny old world...

I was just thinking this afternoon to ask if the door could be adjusted.

My drivers door is just a little low. As previously mentioned, my older, 2001, never had a droopy door.

I'll put that one on the "to do" list as well.

Gearing changed slightly
Better mpg
More power :naughty
Abs....
Better headlamps? :nenau
Maintenance free 4wd compared to the strip and fix hubs
Urm... All I can think of.. Some of these might not be deemed as "improvements"

the td has less " improvements " to go wrong :augie:lol

For legal reasons and to reduce emissions and improved performance, they had to go for an intercooler and Maf, and better economy.
Unfortunately these "improvements" entailed fitting additional components that made it more difficult and expensive to fault find, but did introduce fault codes that could be read to help locate the fault.

vorsprung durch technik ....... progress through technology ...... indeed

Think Uncle Rustic has covered it about right as usual, Rick
