Currently there is a thread about removing tinted windows which reminded me that I want to add tint to my windows.

Can someone advise on how their attempt went where they bought it from and any hints?

I will not be tinting the driver and passenger windows.

Also i would rather pay someone to do this well than buy the kits of ebay and make a mess of it UNLESS it is a quite easy diy job.

I did mine with a film from eBay about four years ago, side windows a doddle but the back screen was a pig, probably because it curves vertically and horizontally, and had several creases in it that I couldn't get rid of.
Also I found that, over time with children in the back and with cleaning the windows, small rips started to appear, that's why I decided to take it off.
However it was cheap, seem to remember around £7 or £8 for the roll, whereas a local firm quoted me £200!

Like Terranical, I did my own windows on a Vitara, and the sides were OK, but the Back was hell, and I never got it to look good.

I cheated and got the pros to do the V70 before I picked it up from the garage, and having seen the mess they have made on this T1, I think it was money well spent..

I think Halfords sell tinting kits, my terry already has tinted rear windows as standard and the fronts are a lot less tinted

Hi guys i tint windows as part of my sign making business and my advice would be pay for an expert to do them correctly, it is worth the money in the long run.

I tinted mine a couple of years ago when i got my Terrano and they still look great.

Maybe there is a possibility of a workshop download there...

When I brought my truck it had the rear window tinted badly before it was scratched and torn and made up on about 3 pieces. I took it to a local window tinters and it cost my £5 for them to remove the old one and the glue and £25 for them to re tint It. It looks so much better well worth it being done properly. I would have lost my temper with it

i dont think its hard.. you need a water mist sprayer but it must be very fine, clean the inside of the windows then spray with water, be carefull not to have it running down the glass and then offer the film up starting in the centre of the glass. you need something like the grout aplicator for tiles. hard plactic about 6 inch long with a large rubber blade on it

start with the aplicator in the centre and take it to the bottom of the glass then back to the top again from the centre pushing out the water you sprayed in with your mist bottle. slowly moving out making the are stuck to the window larger. take your time. easy peasy lemon squeezy

ir you going to rush or panick get your money out and pay the profesionals
