ABS.?????????

HI I folloed a newish Astra tonight when it tried to stop it went a bit sideways on slushy snow .
The strange thing was what happened to the brake lights they were flashing on and off at a continue`s rate much faster than you could make them flash by cadence braking .
Could this have been ABS activating ??
I followed the Astra for a mile and when ever the car braked the brake lights worked as normal.

it certainly sounds like ABS but I didnt think it wold work on the lights, maybe its to stop them locking up as well? :lol
