I was wondering if there is a way of putting a pipe fitting into a plastic tank that you can not get your hands inside, and if there is, what it would be called.

I know of Tank connectors, but they all seem to need you to get to the inside to tighten them up.

easy as long as there is a hole that the fitting will go through to start with, a little more tricky if no openings, but still possible, what is it for Clive?

We have a caravan wastehog, which is a waste water container on wheels that the water from the sinks runs into.

On most of the sites we go to, we are next to the hedge row and basically, the waste water from the caravan runs into the wastehog, and I want to fit an outlet at the wheel end, that on the right sites I can remove a cap and fit a length of hose that the water at the top then runs back out and waters the hedge row.

I can pass things in through the blue cap, but the hole is only about 3 inches, and is not big enough for me to get my hand in.

I originally fitted a connector to one of the caps, but it only works if you can get that end lower than the input end, which does not work on flat sites.

Why not use a length of hose from your outlet to the hedge and bypass the waste hog.
To be honest with you, we don't go through to much water and just empty the waste master when needed

an Essex flange will do the job, all done from the outside, we use these on copper hot water cylinders to supply shower pumps, you can get them in 15mm or 22mm sizes, Rick

My gorgeous wife never camped until I introduced her to it 12 years ago, so has no idea on how to survive on minimum water. In order to make her realise just how much water we use, it's her job to fill the aquarolls when needed, and she thinks we have done well if we get away with just one aquaroll in a day. We have 2 x 30litre ones, and when she washes her hair, we can do both of them in a day easily, and often need a refill before the day is out. She can fill the hog up in a day.:augie

The problem with "straight through" is that, any fat, bubbles or peas and stuff in the water then make a mess in the hedge. The do a soak away pipe, for caravans, but they are expensive, and over time they fill up with all the grease and stuff and stop working. They are horrible to clean out.

The sites we go on do not mind (in fact encourage), the waste water in the hedge, but do not want all the other bits especially any foam or bubbles, so by doing it this way, you can get away with just emptying the hog once a week to get rid of those bits.

Cheers Rick, I will look into what an Essex Flange is, and see if I can get one.

Thanks Rick, Suz and I were a bit dubious typing "Essex Flange" into Google with safe search turned off...:lol:augie

I actually think we were both a bit disappointed to find just how "clean" the results were, and now know we officially have the dirtiest minds on the internet...:lol

Anyway, just watched a video in fitting one, and it looks perfect. Will go and get one tomorrow.:clap

You weren't the only one thinking it though :naughty
