Hey all, I've got a couple of questions - very basic question for 2001 Terrano II. As I bought it as a used car, the owner's handbook didn't come and I don't know what these switches are;

1. On the left, how do you use this switch? S / Snowmark?

2. Not sure what this does?

Cheers!

It's to change how the auto gearbox selects gears.
Snow flake means it will pull away in second and short shift the rest.
S means it will hold gears a little longer when you're giving it welly:thumb2
Leave it in the middle for off

The other switch is to arm the alarm without the interior sensors active. For example If you lock the car with a dog inside.

S for Sport mode and you know the other option.

As said turns the movement sensors off.

The lock switch next to the autobox mode looks intriguing, is that a lock all the doors whilst you are sat in the car switch? Mine hasn't got that one.

Thank you, Ian, Jim.

"The lock switch next to the autobox mode" is actually unlock all doors switch. Thought if I open the driver's door, it opens all doors and this wouldn't be needed...?

I agree with all the above....save, that my door 'all locked' switch is just behind the actual interior door opening handle on the drivers side....which often gets accidentally switched to lock.....and I find myself trapped....:nenau

Hi mate,

Congratulations on your purchase :thumb2

If you press the unlock button once on the remote it will only unlock the drivers door, press again and all the doors will unlock. Sure it is described as a anti-hijack precaution in the hand book. I find it basically means the girlfriend stands outside pulling at the door handle and cursing me when I pick her up in the rain.

If you open with key then all doors unlock first time.

This is how it is on my W reg anyway.

Cheers, Thomas. Now I understand how it works - it's same as your W reg. The key's rubber part is worn out so I've already bought a key head from eBay to make it brand new:naughty
