As stated lol

1. Do I have to tell the insurance company that I fitted the K&N induction kit?

2. Is it legal to have the front fogs on in normal conditions at night?

well, yes to first that's definite, second, fog-lamps, i would say "no" , driving lights are different and can be used. :thumb2:nenau

FOG lights, the clue's in the name. defo a £30 fine, it's illegal unless visibility is "poor".
Driving lights are different and should go off on dip I think:thumbs

ok am I naming them wrong? I am talking about the little lights to the inside of my headlights lol!! They do appear to point downwards....

Yep they are the fogs....and the answer is a no, BUT, get in front and have a look, they really do point down at the road instead of blinding anyone and I use them a lot (illegally), especially on windy welsh roads, as they do an excellent job of lighting up the side of the road.

As for the induction kit, if you call it that they might get a bit hysterical depending on who you are with. Its doesn't actually 'induce' anything that the standard filter doesn't already. Just tell them (truthfully) that you've fitted one of these aftermarket air filters that never needs replacing.

Talking about induction makes them think of turbos and superchargers which are forced induction ancilliaries, so 'aftermarket air filter' is the best description.

But thats just what I'd do, make your own mind up.:thumbs
