Hi All, I am new to this forum and to car based DIY.

I bought a 'bargain' 97 Ford Maverick on ebay about 6 months ago, after failing it's MOT spectacularly, I have made it my mission to get it through. I have been welding for the past 3 months and have successfully rebuilt both rear upper spring mounts and patched up the chassis where required - it was in a pretty bad state, but its all progressing nicely. For some strange reason I decided to take the rear drum brakes apart (handbrake was one of the failures) but I didn't take a photo of the assembly before hand. I have the Nissan Terrano R20 manual pdf's, but I can't make out the correct assembly from the diagrams, as they are slightly different to my components.

If anyone has a photo of the rear drum brake assembly for a 97 (or similar) Ford Maverick I will definitely buy you a pint next time your in Cornwall!

Welcome mate :thumb2

Keep us updated with the progress, nice to see another Maverick my shape still on the road :), when it's got a nice 12 months on it, reclaim some of that money back by running it on Veg :sly

Is this any good?

Hi Banshee

Thanks a million for those, had a good look through TONUPs post and its helped loads, I now know where all the springs go. As with TONUPs my Adjuster is bent, so I will get some heat on it and straighten it out tomorrow. Can't emphasise enough my appreciation, I started to get that sick feeling again (like the time when I managed to push my fingers through my chassis).

I am sure I won't be able to offer anyone on here any advice on how to fix things, but I can from experience say what not to do:

1. Take anything apart without photographing where everything goes.
2. Don't assume you can just get any replacement part at a decent price you may have to fix/clean it up and make good.
