A friend is considering getting a LWB but wants to know what the seat belt set up is for passengers.

Is the centre seat available with a 3 point belt? What about the 6th and 7th seats what have they got?

seat belts

Hi

I have a Mistral 1996

seat 3 (behind driver) is a 3 point belt as is seat 5 (behind passenger)
centre seat 4 is a lap belt only.

seat 6 and 7 are 3 point belts. with separate seat belt clips.

hope this helps but i am aware my model is an import.

Hi,

Ive gotta 2005 T2, and ALL the seat belts (middle and 6th,7th) are 3 point.

I'm pretty sure that from the MK4 version all are this way... I know in my old MK3 Terrano the middle belt was a lap belt.

Thanks for that - he's hoping to find a 3.0L for the right money so that would work fine.

My 2001 SWB as a lap belt in the centre so could well be Mk4s - though I'm not quite sure how to define Mk4 - offset air scoop?

ive a 1999 with central scoop, so offset would be the Mk4 im sure.

we dont have any trouble with a lap belt in the centre even with 3 kids in the middle row.

No but then you haven't had a big accident yet either thank god. Lap belts might save your life but they can make an awful mess of you non the less, even if its just breaking your nose with your own knees.

AH, thats true enough..

wonder if you can ADD a 3point into the milddle??

Hiya,

Nah, the ofset air scoop is the 3.0ltr version, centre scoop is the 2.7ltr.

As far as I am aware....

Terranosaurus, your T2 looks like a MK3 version (about 1999 to 2002) I think the MK4 came in from about a '52 plate' - main difference is the front bumper, the MK3 had kidney kind of shape grills in the front bumper... the MK4 had this restyled and the front number plate moved to just under the grill.
MK4's also came with 17" alloys as standard, and an alloy spare wheel

This is the MK4 version, and states under saftey 3x3 point seat belts on both versions...

Fair enough I get what you mean re Mk3 MK4 differences but not convinced they define a new version - if we counted bumper changes we'd be on about Mk20, there a fair few on the early types.

As for seat belts not sure you can tell based on the bumper as I've found a few Mk4s on ebay with lap belts. Might be a year thing or even optional extra - like this one for instance - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-NISSAN-T...s_UK?hash=item3ca36d72b0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Do yu think they could be retro fitted either from breakers or they're new enough the parts should be available fro Nissan.

EDIT

Looks do-able - not much to it - http://nissan4u.com/parts/terrano2/.../rear_seat_belt_and_rear_seat/illustration_1/

Nah, plenty of other changes too, steering wheel, speedo etc, radio, internal door panels, air con as standard, ABS and EBD as standard, improved security etc :thumb2
