Come on Nissan owners help me out!

My son is almost 16 and wants a bike, has anyone got anything for sale?

I had searched and searched for something 'cool' at a reasonable price, I even bought one 'buy it now' on ebay yesterday. I was going to collect it tonight and the seller phoned me to say he had sold it to some one else this morning - what a **** :doh

Looked at loads of DNA's the troubles finding a good un. They also seem plagued with electrical faults in the clocks :(

He wants a bike ?

I had an GSXR Hayabusa 1349cc Hyperbike (The fastest road production bike in the world) and rode it like i stole it, it would go from 0 to 160 mph faster than you could hold on to it and the top speed i ever did with it was 175 mph+ on the A1 near Newark. i would cut through traffic like i owned the road and would think nothing of going between over taking vehicles to get ahead. Yes i was a IDIOT!!!!

So why am i telling you all this, because as stupid as i was and with the risks i took, nothing could of prevented the WAxxxR the ran into the back on me when i was doing 30mph in a built up area. He hit me with such speed he shoved me and my bike under a parked car and drove off, not knowing if i was alive or dead.

The bike was a write off, i escaped with a few cuts and a batterd ego.
My protection, full racing leathers, Boots, Gloves, and a £300 helmet saved my life. I still have them even though, and the accident was last year.

Even the best riders are a target, i could have done nothing to have prevented the accident and thats the scary bit, But making sure i had all the gear on saved me.

PLEASE MAKE HIM DO THE SAME! It may not look cool, till its too late!

Agree with Kamsin 100%, just after I had finished restoring my Suzuki GT380 a myopic oncoming driver turned right straight across my path when I was 15 yards away from him. I slammed everything on, bike high-sided and threw me straight into the boot of a parked car with the bike underneath it. I was wearing my leather jacket and good quality helmet, I got away with two broken ribs, whiplash and some very pretty bruising and gravel rash.
Best part was the driver said "I didn't see you" - WHAT! I was a couple of car lengths from him, on a bright June afternoon, with my headlight on, and just to rub salt into it he informed me he was a biker too, he was driving his wifes' car!
You cannot skimp on motorcycle clothing and helmets!

bought him one of these:

spent today with my son in law - a keen biker and professional motor vehicle technician - going over it.

I agree about leathers helmets and good advice in general. A friend of ours pulled up on one of his bikes while we were working on it today and told us all about the virtues of riding 100mph + in a shorts and a T shirt:eek:

it takes all sorts i suppose :doh

its a nice looking bike but if i was buying that the barrels would be off for a big bore.. 30mph limmit is dangerous. he will have all the 4x4 drivers trying to push him sater and it wont have anything.

bikes should st least keep up with the flow of traffic

it really is pretty nippy for a 50cc, I don't want to encourage him to make any changes that would get him on the wrong side of the law. His CBT is on Wednesday so he should be on the road by the end of the week. He can already ride pretty well though as he has always had off road bikes.

tell him that another 16 year old (me) says get a terrano. You'll get more woman in it:thumb2:D
