hi all, i used the 4wd option this morning, really good grip in the ice etc.
but when i came to reverse park at work it felt weird, like a rubber band being twisted is all i can describe it as, it was slowing the truck down to a stop! is this the lsd action, is it a fault as it seems fine in 2wd? its an 03 plate 2.7.
thanks for looking, any comments welcomed, tar.

do not use 4wd on ground where the front or back axles can't slip as there is no centre diff on the transfer box

its called transmission wind up , see above post for reasons

thank you guys, was worried there could have been a problem with new toy!
in my defence it was quite icy on the way in, it felt a bit twitchy in the rain monday in 2wd. again, thanks, mike.

a no no in the rain, just slow down, & same with ice unless its like 2/3yrs ago ice, wee patches it still no keen on, but if you have auto hubs u can change from 2wd to 4h without having to stop, just at low speeds tho :thumb2

There's some instructions on the use of the 4wd system in the downloads section.
Don't forget if you've got auto locking hubs to reverse when done with 4wd to release the hubs.
To be honest you'll hardly need the 4wd as they are very capable in 2wd.

you dont need to reverse to disengage the auto hubs if u leave them engaged next time u need to pull the leaver to 4h u can do it at at a much higher speed (but be warned if u are not sure if u have not reversed only engage at speeds below 25mph other wise u will strip the auto hubs:eek:) . next time u reverse in to parking space it will disengage anyway then u have to make sure u r not traveling over 25mph so u dont damage the auto hubs when they 1st engage this way u r in and out of 4h when u meet more snow on the road hope that makes sense:thumbs
