Okay, tyres and front suspension sorted onto exhaust next.

While the van was up on the ramps at the weekend I noticed a hole on the front section just before the flexi section - Im guessing a weak spot (especially since ive got the turbo wound up a bit more).
Mid silencer didn't look too healthy (and I just seen the other thread with the exploded silencer too!)and rear exhaust mounting snapped.
Conclusion, that's good enough reason for me to get full custom stainless steel system - now booked in on Thu at an exhaust specialist, downpipe back, 2 1/4" stainless steel - next choice is silencer or not?
The guy making the system said could do a large / small even no silencer if I wanted.
The van is a daily driver on the road so don't want any drone coming through the cabin.

Any thoughts or experiences welcome???

2 1/4" nah, go 2 1/2 " and get the turbo flange elbow bit made as big as possible as that's the weak point. Hi flow silencer is probably the way to go as the straight through noise can get you down after a bit on any kind of journey.

Dropped the van off tonight's at the exhaust place, he had a quick look underneath - at the top of the downpipe there is cat like looking thing, is it a dpf or silencer, we weren't too sure, I didn't think the Terranos had dpf's?

i replaced my 2 1/2 in exhaust with a standard one due to cabin noise and rot lol they made it out of mild steel

Did you have silencer in yours?
I must admit, when I ran the van after exhaust sheared at the flexi section it wasn't too loud just the whistle of the turbo spooling.
Bit nervous now, ah well it's underway - no going back now.

Possibly, guy said downpipe looked a bit rough and was happy to take it from turbo back if better. No extra cost, he's done three of my cars before.
Find out when I pick it up tomorrow night.

Don't think they have dpf atall? Pain in the backside those. Seen one cleaned up with coca cola :lol
