sounds like could have done with that about 10-15 years ago at height
of local bus wars.
maybe not that fast but firm i worked for re-engined several leyland
national mk1s from the so-so leyland 500 (8 litre) to the volvo 10 litre,
to say went like stink was an understatement, just pity brakes weren't
upgraded as well! atleast had the original semi auto transmission but
really needed a retarder. thats apart from the one driving it hehe.
the nationals ended up getting scrapped due to emisions on the 500
motor, despite these being upgraded, they were life expired and the
low floor revolution made them look prehistoric. shame damn good
buses, not the leyland we associate with cars of the era...
