Im just about to get my body lift done to fit the 31's.
but what about a spare wheel?
Im pretty sure a 31 wont fit on the back door... so what is the biggest that will?
and if its has to be used will it drive ok with an odd size wheel on?

you don't really need a spare the same size as your other 4 aslong as it's a backup only. as in if you puncture one of your wheels your not going to be travelling long distances. Get you home wheel of sorts.

i am sure i have seen some terry's and mavs with a rounded centre part of bumper on fleabay, thus allowing for bigger tyres.

Yes, even a normal diff will not like it for long journeys. Luckily most terranos have free wheeling hubs so the front diff won't turn.
