what are the 3.0litres like? reliability etc? compared to the 2.7? as i've got my eye on one, and hopefully selling mine tomorrow :)

Early ones tend to grenade, especially in Patrols due to oil circulation problems, but 04 on 3.0 Terrano's should be fine.

the 3.0ltr engine was sorted before it was transplanted in the T2. Any 3.0ltr in a T2 should be ok.

pity i dont have the money for one....

i can but dream

Your right about the 3.0 in the Terrano, the only issue which is common with both patrols and Terrano's is the High pressure oil switch which tend to fail, these are a £24 repair, takes about 5 minutes.
This has been the only issue I've come across.
Very easy to do oil and filter change on these engines, probably the easiest oil change I've ever done.

I Had my 03 patrol for 5 years from ex-demo to 120k no real problems one oil sensor and one oil seal.
Apart from the Fuel Pump in the last months. I Would recommend You only use genuine Nissan Fuel Filters :thumb2
The Bosch fuel specialist i used showed me the internal fuel pump valve damage.:doh
Light score marks from some small partials which got past the fuel filter over a number of months, i was using what ever filters were handy

I had no hesitation in getting my new Patrol 3.0lt, I think its like any thing you take care of it and it will take care of you,
don't skimp fit the best parts you can afford and the 3.0 will take you any where :clap:clap
