Hi,
just had our truck 3.0l diesel checked by local nissan garage who have told us that the front prop has partly seized UJ's, the front DIFF is very noisey and gets hot and they suspect internal failure and bothe DIFF and prop should be replaced at a cost of £2600.

We were wondering if anyone knows of a breakers or supplier of second hand parts that may be able to supply the parts required as we cant afford to pay Nissans boys to mend it but we have a very good mechanic friend who could do it if we can get the bits, but the problem we have is that the 3.0l seems to be like hens teeth

UJs shouldn't be that big an issue and I know its a bit obvious, but have you tried changing the diff oil first just in case?

And it may well be the diff is the same as the MkIII or MkIV 2.7Tdi - theres no obvious reason for it to be any different, but someone else might know better....ditto the propshaft?

have a look in the relevant manual sections, the 3.0 is covered there as well.

3.0L is diff is higher ratio than 2.7 so you need a 3.0L one I'm afraid. Prop should be same though.

thanks for the help guys, managed to get one from a breakers on tinternet, and a prop, all in for £500 delivered, local mechanic fitted both and MOT'd it £450. Lots of dosh cheaper than the £3000 that Nissan dealer wanted.
