3.0 clutch on a 2.7tdi...

Who's done the 3.0 clutch on a 2.7? I've heard the flywheel may need machining??? So I've sourced a spare flywheel but I can't see why or how it would need machining????? Any advise welcome

It would only need machining if the original centre plate has worn the flywheel down on the friction material contact area as I believe the "3" centre plate is slightly bigger in diameter, Rick
