255/65x16 tyres ??

Hi - I've got a LWB Terrano II - 2003, that is totally standard and fitted with allows and 235/70x16 tyres.

Does anyone know if 255/65x16 tyres will fit the alloys and vehicle without modifying the bodywork?

The diameter is the same and obviously the width difference would be split 50/50 either side of the wheels - but I have no idea if there would be enough room?

Well done zipps you've added links to what he already knew - mindless posting links isn't always helpful you know.


No you'll ave no problems with the extra width its only really to much extra diameter tat becomes an issue and only when you go above 31". You could go up to 265 and stay with 70 profle with no issues but if you want to maintain the same rolling diameter than as you say the 265/65/16s are so close to std they will be the same within manufacturing differences.
