2008 North/Scottish Rally

Hi all :smile: I was wondering how many members are interested in the North/Scottish meet in 2008 :?:

What would members like from this meet eg Greenlaning, pay & play site etc :?:

Th reason i'm asking is so I can start doing some ground work for this event & of course anyone is welcome to help out with this if they want :lol: :wink:

Hi sweety,you know you can count us in for a def.! if we want to do some laneing ,it'll have to be Northumberland or the lakes,unfortunatly the borders is no good for laneing,just depends what we want from this meet,if there is to be no laneing i suggest a little higher up,to try to accomidate those who maybe want to come from further up scotland!
Sorry if this may sound selfish!

After having a chat with Mav yesterday it looks as if the rally will be held on the 24th-26th of may but if this is no good for members i'm sure we could flex a week or two either way :roll: As for location I don't know yet as it will depend on what members would like to do :smile:

Location wise I'm happy with anywhere but if people do fancy green laning during the weekend then I'd suggest Yorkshire dales over Lancashire and North York Moors over the Lake District simply for the number of lanes available.

Id be up for a north/scottish meet. Never really done the off road thing though so would be hoping for something simple to ease me in....

The latest trip he organised to the Yorkshire Dales was brilliant,and the views were stunning.
Yes i know i have only been on one laneing trip so far but i and my family really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one we can make it to!! 8) :lol:

I must agree with you Cosmic 8) HB did a great job setting that one up & we realy enjoyed ourselfs :smile: I think Yorkshire may be a vey good option depending on the interest from Scottish members

There is a farm at Drumclog near East Kilbride that is used for offroading and trail bike events (pay and play)The Surf owners club use it for their events.I think caravans can be accomidated on site,I can find out more If need be.

Hi I know where your talking about on the A71 between Kilmarnock and Strathaven, but me thinks it too far north for most to travel.

For people in North and Scotland there's Langdale Quest is North Yorks and there is a place at Barnard Castle in Co Durham. Loads of Caravan sites in these areas.

I'm easy on where it is but as i said date is my problem, (shifts etc)

Sweety you're running it you choose, half the people that vote won't turn up anyway so make a decision that you think might work and lets go with it.

As well as Langdale Quest theres also Robin Hoods bay 4x4 place, can't remember its proper name but I think we ought to aim to be a little nearer the main motorway corridors than either of those places. Having thought about it again, northern Lakes might not be such a bad idea, Ulswater/Pooley Bridge area. Right off the M6 so access is good. Few Green lanes up there to have a go at but theres also plenty more to do with it being the lake district. Only thing I can think is is the proposed date during school holidays cos the lakes can be bedlam.

I think you'll find the lakes are busy all year round. We often go out of season and they are still busy.

It may even be too late to find a site in lakes that can take even a small rally.

Ok,so are we going to have this meet on the 23th,24th and 25th of May?? How many people are up for these dates,and where are we going to hold it,so that it's not to far for everybody to travel???
