I have 2.7tdi terrano 2002 reg and wanting to know what controls fueling as my pump doesn't appear to have electrical plug in it at all. the injectors don't have loom to them. The pump has a screw in the middle of the 4 fuel out let's and the problem I have fuel economy seems shocking as it's doing about 20mpg on normal driving. Anyone shed some light as wondering if the pump should be connected to ecu

There is no wiring loom to all 4 injectors only 2 wires to number 1 injector:thumbs when was the last time you changed the fuel filter & have you removed the banjo bolt to see if there is a filter inside the bolt:augie Once I cleaned my banjo bolt filter the engine reved better & the MPG went up a bit & since i've replaced my blocked fuel filter again things seem to be getting better. I've no idea about any connections on the pump:eek: driving style has a huge impact on MPG with these trucks if I drive hard & do 70 or faster I only get around 27/28 but if I keep the revs at 2500 or lower & don't drive faster than 60 I get a return of 32/33mpg

Check that the original IP has not been changed for an earlier type.
If so it will have a mechanical throttle linkage whereas the fly by wire IP will have no throttle linkage and (IIRC) a round 5 pin plug about an inch in diameter.
This mod is not uncommon.
