Bit mystified.
checked the diff oil level and it was fine.
Drained the oil. didn't seem to be 3 litres there...
Filled it up and it was full with 1.5l.

Whats going on? spec says 2.8l and it seems to be barely half of that.
Car was pretty level....

Would it have made a difference to run the car and get it all was bit warm before I did it? but it was full up to the fill bung before I started, so all the oil must have been in the bottom.
The oil coming out didn't look bad...

I've put the recommended comma LSD oil in, now worried my car doesn't have that diff and I've used the wrong oil...

Check your diff type, C200 or H233, both are LSD but oil capacity is different.
C200 has a cover plate on the rear and H233 bolts into the front of the axle case.

You have not put the wrong oil in, comma LSD is correct for both.
I did mine (05 reg) and kept jacking it from side to side, this got more out than when I just undid the plug.
I also did mine after a run.

Thanks for the reassurances. Took a fair bit of googling to find that the c200 is supposed to take 1.2l.
