Are they easily interchangeable or do they contain the immobiliser like in a vw ?

Mines fooked as the mileage/trip has gone AWOL

How much are they btw ?

they can be swapped over easily but r like rocking horse shit s/h , new round £450 repaired around £100 mark if its just the lcd thats gone on urs try re solder the dry joints on the back of the lcd where it joins the flexie circuit board alot cheaper if it works:thumbs

Thing is its gone to 3's and 8's all over the mileage trip bit, dunno what that could be but it seems like the LCD bit it's self is bolloxed

Will have a firkle tho and get the soldering iron out

its the dry joints that make the lcd dash do that search web and this site about this problem:thumbs

Ah ok mate, sounds like a job for tommorow afternoon ... Maybe depending on hangover status and what time I finish cooking/eating the roast beef

also try if u can clean up the plugs and connectors to the dash as they and become dirty:thumbs its a very common fault on dashes between 1999 and 2002

I had this problem on my 01 model and found that when I pushed the back of the cover in, it would make the display work, in the end,I just packed out the space behind the clocks and when it was screwed back into the dash, they worked ok
