Have you un-done the steering link in the engine bay?

Also the front might be catching the metal below the radiator.

None of them snapped, they bloody stong buggers. Did not bother with the ones with nuts on, just cut through them and took them out. I was not moving the bumpers, but now looking at it you have to cos they look silly.

The bolts needed a straight bar 5 foot long to encorage them to come out though. I found if you tighten them up again first before undoing them, they come out much better.

Up to now this has only cost me £32 to do the lift. so im not doing to bad with it, and the 2" make it look really high, or that could be because its still on the jack yet.

Great stuff.

Post some pics please mate, also of how bumpers look now and if you do move them up, pics of the mods would be much appreciated

I will do matey, but im more intrested in getting it back together for Sunday right now :lol.
Bumpers may have to wait till i have a bit more time, unless the lift goes ok now Pete and Fez have pointed out the errors in my ways. :doh

haha, if at first u don't succeed... try and try again :D

Bumpers will need moving up as said, Looks very weird if you don.t. I had a go at making my rear bumper higher, went ok but not perfect. I plan on going for a rear metal bumper anyway.

Still need to do the front winch bumper.

£32 for the body lift seems good. you do realise the bolts at the back are fine pitched thread?

on the bumper side of things, can you not just cut the brackets off that stick out, nice square cut with thin disk, then tack weld them on 40mm lower, try this for size, then weld a piece diagonal across both pieces to strengthen back up ?

Took the old bolt in to Baps bolt and had new ones made to the same spec just 50mm longer. They fit perfect and gave them me for free as it turns out my dad plays bingo with his wife, (no this is not code for something else). I have planed on making a new front and rear bumper anyway, so this will just sour me on a little. Its going to look a bugger Sunday though ifi get it put back together. :lol

Im getting good with the welder now, so i will see what can be done with them.

50mm :thumbs

I thought it would be as easy as that but turned out to be alot harder and its not perfect.

Fuel filler and tank are part of the body so they dont alter

I have a feeling im going to have no front bumper on for the Sunday meeting :augie
