ok i got terranosaurus's 2" lift and wound the torsion bars up

she's been having problems with handling as you know

fitted new stearing bar and track rods ball joints etc had the tracking re done today and they say the camber is out now due to the spring lift

can the camber be re set on the t2 mav tdi:nenau

i wish i could find a good tyre place that could do tracking balanceing and everything els in south wales.... ive tried everywhere and no one can offer a good full job of setting my truck up... its stupid

its adjusted by different thickness shims which are behind the two big bolts on the upper wishbone.
still got mine to do yet as it has thrown mine out with lifting the front end.
its going in for mot next week so i'm gonna get them to check and adjust it while its at the garage.

just been reading the manual... and notice the wheel bearings have a lock nut and washer...

am i right in thinking there is room to tweek them just to tighten out any play in the bearings , very minimum of course !!!

Yes.

I've not had to reset camber on either of mine that I've lifted. The chage has been so slight they're still within tolerance - you sure your bushes aren't goosed they can affect camber too.

I'd like to know too cause my new TDi has a really crap handling front end:(
I know the shocks(sorry "dampers") are goosed(hurry up Trex)but also suspect assorted bushes:eek:
So thought about poly bushing them when the Trex dampers arrive:rolleyes:
ARB will be off too.

well they recon the two track rods i didnt change (nearest the wheels) have play now.
they recon there is play in the wheels but cant say where ?????!!!!

so all i can do is fit new track rod ends and tweek the barings a bit and re fit an arb to the front

everything else looks good and tight.

but on bends and roundabouts the front dives between 5-6 inches and it feels like the truck wants to go over the wheel ie turning right it wants to suck the left wheel in under the truck....

i m sure i could live with no arb on the front if it didnt dive so much... im hoping new tougher dampers on the front would be a great help ... im very keen to cut the body to get max on the new tyres but i got to get this set up right first.

why do garages only do half a job or dont have a clue what they are doing or looking for...

i asked for tracking and ballance on all 4 wheels just so i could eliminate them things and only got the tracking done so im really none the wiser and the tracking isnt that centre on the wheel either a whole day off wasted and the cost.... nearlly bought a landy today !

tracking

going back to the point of tracking do not recomend newport fords - namely rapid fit they tried 14 times over two days to try and do my tracking, newport nissan not interested as it was a ford, not very helpful, although got a good tip of one of their mechanics....on the quiet, they take the vehicles to Orchard Motors in newport, by the transporter bridge. So i took it there took a couple of hours only charged if i remeber right about £65. Would highly recommend Orchard Motors, dont know if they could help you with your lift adjustment, good luck
