Hi
It was such a long time ago we talked about this - I thought I would start a new thread about it to refresh peoples memory.
I have a Terrano 2.7TDI 2000
It developed a fault which has stumped me for the best part of a year, it began with an odd misfire / kick at 55mph at just over 2000rpm. Steadily over the months it got worse - an anoying judder now and again at 55mph. It got to the point where it would kick on normal acceleration at around 2000 revs.
:nenau
If you went up through the revs steadily in neutral, all was well until just over 2000revs and the engine would kick and judder but then rev past this point smooth until about 3200 revs where it kicked all over the place ...
I came to the conclusion in February that the MAF was the problem and bought a new one. You can imagine the frustration and dissapointment when it made no difference what so ever!! .:doh
Today I decided was going to be the day where I was going to get stuck into this problem and find out what the hell is going on with it.
I removed the intercooler and all the induction pipework - checked and inspected everything for leaks, all looked good.
I removed the fuel line to the injector pump - looked at the banjo filter - clean as a whistle.
I examined the fuel lines, removed and replaced the fuel filter, checked the drain for any leaks or passing air into the filter.
I then turned my attention to the turbo and noticed it has a vacum unit which pulls a linkage to the wastegate.
Thinking the vacum unit may be faulty / leaking, I proceeded to measure the threaded rod as not to lose the adjustment before removing it .......when I suddenly noticed something.....
There is a small 90degree rubber hose about 5inches long which connects the induction side of the turbo to the vacum device. It was perished!!
I replaced this hose with a carefully bended piece of rubber hose and the problem is gone :thumbs:bow::jump
It goes like a new truck!!! :beer
