Is there any good mods/adjustments that can be done to the maverick and terrano engine to make it generally better?

I personally have turned the boost up by about 4 psi
Removed the EGR Valve completely
Straight through exhaust

Upping the boost bring the turbo forward on spooling

The removal of the EGR Valve keeps the pressure where it should be rather than loosing it round the back of the engine

Straight through exhaust opens up to let the gas out quicker

are you sure about item 2 Adz? I thought all the EGR valve did was squirt a bit of the shitty polluted exhaust gas back into the cylinders?:nenau

I've heard a lot about this EGR valve, so it must make a change

The EGR valve only opens on certain conditions, to recirculate exhaust gases into the inlet manifold, typically on the overrun but NEVER when you are giving it some welly, it is only an emissions control, but they can leak and with a turbo that is not so good, Rick

I know its there for emissions (but isnt needed in my opinion) I'd already blocked mine off but on the way to Wales earlier this year the bloody pipe broke that goes from the manifold to the EGR Valve :doh
So after that i took the hole lot off :naughty

odd but blaning or removing the egr seems to be the most popular mod on transit vans too! i've never done it, but everyone who has seems to think it's improved things.
