Gents,

Can anyone recommend a supplier of piston rings, bearing and gaskets other than OEM. I want to refurbish my motor thats low on compression. Heads been reworked and engine is removed to wanting to spruce it up prior to refitting.

Thanks in advance

Try Partco. I've had piston rings etc from them in the past, not for a T2. Don't know if they still sell rings etc.

They used to have new rings for worn serviceable engines, you can also get stepped top rings so the new ring doesn't hit the wear ridge at the top of the bore.

I'm not telling you how to suck eggs, but you need to measure top and bottom of the piston cylinder to see if new rings will do the job. Its no use setting the correct piston ring gap at the top of a worn cylinder and its too tight at the bottom. It will break the new ring

Hope this helps:)
