hi folks
have an import mistral 1995 and wish to expand radio frequencies of the radio, the expander is straight forward enough red(live) & black(earth) well heres the problem dismantled middle console pulled out the radio want to know what the blocks of wires in the back relate too.there is no diagram on the radio telling you whats what.need to splice into a live wire and a earth one
states
csk 9301 k
model 51067372t
cheers inadvance

a simple live tester can be made by connecting 2 wires to a 12 volt bulb.

ps , its also good for checking if bulbs have gone , , also if you put a fuse holder in line , and connect to a battery , it will tell you if the fuse has blown too

without a schematic i cant really help apart from suggest the above ,perhaps e mail nissannuk and ask for a schematic or wiring diagram ?

Tried a expander for a while gave up bought new radio along with the adapter plugs much easier and better reception, just a matter of plugging in and a way you go :)

mistral radio

Hi had a similar problem with my mistral.

I bought an adaptor (nissan to ISO) from the ebay liquidice-2008 See seller link below, cost about £4 from memory.

If you have an electric aerial you may also find that you have a female end on the aerial lead and a female socket on the radio unit.

I went to a car stereo centre and had a lead made that was about 8 inches long with a male aerial plug on each end. cost me about a tenner.

hope this helps

Your not going to believe this but in close examination and from what the guy said from whom i bought it off 5 years ago but it already has an expander although it is only one feed and the expander i have has 2 wires.Well sat and scanned the radio and it is getting uk fm stations, however not the best reception. It was more the wife asking me to get it working she is happy, stashing away the other expander feel a right idiot.. 5 years.I have other radio/cd/mp3 players lying about might in another 5 tears change it to uk spec so thanks for the help and offers....away put a pillow over my head in a dark room

you might find a little work an the arial is in order, some have amps on them..

always worth a look, just drop the roof liner at the back, remover the rubber door seal and ease the liner down..

Cheers my ariel is on the drivers front wing. will have alook anyway since its supposed to be electric one but since i have not been using the radio only the seperate cd i think its knackered also
