Well took Maverick down to a Ford garage for 08:30 for its MOT and 1 hour later 1 Certificate with no advisories :clap:clap

I've had the Mav since new and only ever had 1 advisory, last year chip in windscreen (fixed by Autoglass) and brake pads getting low (replaced at Christmas).
Total cost of parts in last 12 months.. 2 Avon Ranger tyres £100, set brake pads £20 plus oil and filter approx £25
I guess I should also include the £10 fee to this club, as without that I would probably be paying garage service prices.
So Why do I run a 15 year old car ?.....:nenau That's why....

So I celebrated and filled the tank up (well £50 anyhow).
Now off to garage to get 2 tyres on wifes car.
I am so pleased...I had to tell someone... :augie

Why do MOT's cause so much stress..? :doh
Rustic.

good stuff :D

I hate MOT's and quite often used to just buy another car with an MOT and get rid of the old car :doh.

Wow! Nice one rustic! Maybe you should consider changing your name to non-rust-ic? :thumbs

When I had my first car it seemed that rust became the major killer of vehicles, my second car was a 2 year old Toyota Corolla (1976 Vintage) both front wings rotted through within the next 12 months, this was normal about this era and Datsuns were worse. So I guess now I spend more time preventing the rust than trying to fill and repair.
So back to the wifes Citroen Picasso, bit of waxoyl to go on the rear cast iron suspension arms.... Why.... because they leave nasty :nenaubrown rust stains on my smooth painted garage floor...:nenau
Regards,

non-rust-ic:)

Your lucky. My 2001 T2 failed yesterday on a drop link and front wheel bearings.

It's going to be a quiet Easter break indoors for me then:(

Hi Alan, mine's failed last month on a droplink, too - picked one up at a local motor factors over the counter for around £15. If it's new front wheel bearings you need, hopefully someone here will be able to point you in the right direction.

Hope it works out for you, mate :thumb2

Thanks for the reply, which in fact makes me feel a lot better about it as the garage only want £17.00 for the drop link and £33.00 per side for the bearings + £40.00 labour so I have booked it in for repairs as this didn't seem excessive, and to be honest I can't be a@s&d to do it. I'm not usually this extravagant mind, but sometimes crawling atround on the floor is just not to appealing, anyway we're on our no Council Tax months... :)

Regards

Alan
